City Councilor Brian J. Honan served the
Allston Brighton community for more than seven years as District City
Councilor and for his whole life as an advocate for Allston Brighton
and the people who live here. As a City Councilor, Brian J. Honan worked
tirelessly for affordable housing, serving as a member of the Neighborhood
Housing Trust and as cochair of the Boston City Council's Committee on
Housing. He worked to advocate both citywide policies and housing developments
that could meet the needs of his community. Councilor Honan played an
important role in making the development of housing at 33 Everett Street
in Allston possible and therefore it is especially appropriate that he
was honored by naming this housing in his memory on Friday, September
23, 2005.
